Beat Jerusalem and Secure First Place in EuroCup Group B

The Bayern Ballers get back to action Wednesday night at 20:30 CET for a EuroCup matchup against Israel’s champion, Hapoel Jerusalem. With a win, Bayern would have their eighth straight victory in the European competition and would secure first place in their group at a very early date. Sasa Djordjevic’s team has already quailified for the Top 16 round which starts shortly after the holidays on January 3rd.

Unfortunately another Baller has been added to the injury report alongside Vladimir Lucic and Stefan Jovic will not suit up for the team on Wednesday or for the following game on Sunday vs the Oettinger Rockets.

“With Jerusalem things have changed, the coach is new and their very experienced forward Kinsey is back after injury," said Djordjevic. “Such changes usually bring a team forward - if you allow them to do so. So we need to stay focused. Unfortunately, we won’t have Jovic after he had just found his place as leader but I hope he won't be out long."

Jerusalem, champion of the Israeli basketball association and the 2004 EuroCup champions (at that time they were known as Uleb) has stabilized a bit after a rough start to the season. They are still fighting for a third or fourth place finish would would be a consolation after the difficult start to the year. They have already changed coaches and parted ways with their top scorer Curtis Jerrells who is now playing with Milan. In the Israeli League they are currently in third place behind only Maccabi Tel Aviv and Holon.

There will be plenty of great deals at the game and the weather looks to be nasty so if you are lucky enough to be heading to the game, get their early and enjoy some vittles and cold beverages before settling in to watch one of the hottest and most exciting basketball teams in all of Europe.
